Hey so I am starting my own matte lipstick line and I wanted to look for recipes that were vegan and I stumbled upon this . I wanted to know if it was okay for me to use your ingredients, although depending on how it is and what I want to achieve I may add or take away some things. So please let me know !

This is so helpful eve, anyway, do this need a preservatives for it lasts long for more than 3 months like other lipsticks do? If yes, what is the preservative. Can u explain me about this preservatives issue a bit, Eve. Thank you so much

In reply to Lavanya. it does not feel grainy at all, please ensure you are using fine rice flour and blend it if needed to become a fine powder.

Hi angie, here are the steps below:

Instructions
First, combine the mica, oil, zinc oxide, and colorant to make your desired color while slowly incorporating the zinc oxide and rice flour to make the shade you prefer.
Ensure there are no lumps and the powder is well dissolved with the oil.
Melt the butter and waxes in a double boiler on low heat until melted.
Add the colored oil mixture, mix well until melted.
Add the essential oil if desired. Mix well.
Pour in the empty lipstick tube as explained in the tutorial below.
Put in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Unmold slowly as per the instructions below. Use within one year.

Hello, Eve. Thank you so much for this recipe! I’m allergic to all normal lipsticks.

Question: Oil is listed twice in the ingredients, but only once in the instructions. When you add the camellia seed oil in Step 1, are you adding a 1/2 teaspoon, or 7? If it’s only 1/2, when do you add the other 7 teaspoons of oil? I apologize if I missed something. Thanks!
