Who would not trust Japanese women for their traditional ways of taking care of their beautiful and flawless skin…? One of their ancient secret is azuki bean which gently exfoliates and removes dull skin. This is a great ingredient to create natural face scrub recipes. Azuki beans also contain saponin which is a natural cleaning and foaming agent. No need to say more…
It happened that I had some organic azuki beans (red beans) left over in my pantry and I was looking for a new face scrub….Nutrition-wise, azuki beans are a good source of magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, and very rich in folic acid so don’t hesitate to include it in your daily diet!
Ingredients
- 1 cup of dry organic azuki beans
- Coffee grinder or your favorite fast speed blender like Ninja or Vitamix make sure you use a blender powerful enough to grind hard beans
- sieve optional
- Containers for natural face scrub recipes
- Glass Salve Containers – You can also find glass cream containers on amazon.com and amazon.ca
Instructions
- Grind the azuki beans in your fast speed blender until they are completely grinded like coarse flour.
- Sift the azuki flour to remove the biggest part of the beans if necessary.
- Pour in a glass air tight container.
- Take one tablespoon of the flour and add enough water to make a thick paste.
- Apply on your face and massage for a few minutes.
- I like to leave the scrub on for 5 minutes while I shower so the benefits of the azuki beans to soak in the skin. Rinse well.
- Moisturize with a dab of camellia seed oil like the Japanese women used to do!
