This Organic face cream recipe is perfect for oily skin or sensitive skins. It is also suitable to all type of skin in the summer when we tend to produce more sebum. Kukui nut oil is definitely one of my favorite oil; I often use it pure and undiluted in the morning on my face.

The great thing about this face cream recipe is that it does not leave a greasy film and absorbs very quickly. For hundreds of years, Hawaiians have used kukui nut oil for its moisturising and healing properties. Lavender; geranium and frankincense essential oils are known to balance the skin and are perfect for oily skin…needless to say the rose scent is heavenly!

  • Hello, Eve! I am looking to make this recipe over the weekend. Do I have to add grapeseed extract or can I use grapefruit seed extract as a substitution. I also have the Leucidal* liquid preservative. Would any of this work.

    Please advise!

    Thank you

    Ling

    • Hi Ling! you need to add grapefruit seed extract as a natural preservative. Sorry there was a typo on the recipe and its now corrected!
Have fun making homemade creams this weekend :-)

  • Hi Eve, do you have any recipe for all natural hair coloring specially to cover these stubborn gray which I can't seems to control..
    Thanks

  • This skincare formula sounds great. Could you substitute beeswax with anything else? I'm interested in trying to make this recipe with all vegan ingredients

  • Please I would like to ask if you have a certificate or. License in making skincare products.

    • I am a certified aromatherapist but do not have a licence for making skincare, its not needed since I use only natural ingredients.

  • Hi dear EVE
    Thanks for your amazing recipes

What is your opinion about adding glycerin to recipe for "oily skin"? e.g is this recipe appropriate to hydrate such skin?
aloe vera, glycerin, rose water, cucumber juice and vit E cap

If yes, you think what is the reasonable amount and ratios for these ingredients?

    Thank you

  • Hi eve,
I love your recipe so much id like to diy but please what is the natural preservation did you use?

    • Hi aya, 1 drop of organic grapeseed extract is a natural preservative. Some essential oils also helps with preservation but keep in mind this is a natural cream so best to make small batches, frequently.

  • Hi Eve..Absolutely love your recipes...will try some and report back..for now arranging all the ingredients...:) wanted to know what is a substitute for Kulkui nut oil..can't seem to find it where i stay..and also could you please share some natural ways of preserving creams made with water bases..thanks so much!!!

    • Hi Arpan, you can replace kukui oil with camelilia seed oil, rosehip oil or saflower oil.

  • Thank you eve for the recipe for goats milk melt and pour soap base .I purchased this soap base recently and it’s so creamy and lathers well and lovely to use. I’m so pleased it could be sent to the uk.
